Why use the ChurchDesk Terminal
Most people don't carry cash these days, but they really want to support the work of their church. With ChurchDesk's Terminal, your church's visitors can pay for e.g. concerts tickets or donate to your church without having to keep cash on hand. You also avoid all the administrative hassle of handling this cash afterwards.
When you receive your Terminal, all you need to do is assemble the stand and tablet, create the appropriate donation or payment projects in your ChurchDesk installation, add them to your payment terminal, and you're ready to go.
How to set up the account with the finance provider
In order to receive payments via your Terminal, it is important that you register to receive payments and donations - read how in this article about setting up ChurchDesk payments and donations . This should be done immediately after ordering the Terminal, as it may take some time and in order for you to be ready to use the Donation Box when you receive it.
Bulid the terminal
Please follow the setup manual that cames in the box with your Terminal. If you don't have it at hand, you can also view and/or download it here: Terminal setup manual
Initial setup of the ChurchDesk terminal for donations and payments
- Go to the Payments & Giving module in your ChurchDesk system.
- Select “Terminal” in the vertical menu on the left.
- If no payment or project has been set up yet, two buttons will appear.
- Click on "Setup payment" and follow the instructions from our helpdesk.
- Click on "Create project" to read about the next steps.
Select which project should be displayed
- Go to your payments & giving module in your ChurchDesk system.
- Select “Terminal” in the vertical menu on the left.
- If no payment or project has been set up yet, two buttons will appear.
- Click on Set up payment and follow the instructions from our helpdesk.
- Click on Create project, here you can read the further steps.
Administration
Like other payment and donation projects, the Terminal is managed from the ‘Payments’ module in your ChurchDesk installation. You can find introductions, FAQs and guides to payments here
- Click on the title of ChurchDesk terminal
- Select a project from the dropdown under ‘project on device’. You can also select a different project here afterwards.
- Click on save
Mobile app
You can manage your payment terminal via the mobile app.
The corresponding screenshots can be found below:
- In the app, click on the menu item "Terminal".
- You can see whether your terminal is online or offline.
- It's possible to see which project is active and you can switch the project.
- You can view all payments as well as details about the payments.
- You can see the refunded payments.
- You can also see if a payment has failed and view the reason for the failure. You can copy the Payment Identifier (Image 4), go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/payments, log in with your account, and then paste it into the search bar at the top to find out if the problem is with Stripe. Alternatively, you can contact Stripe support.
