How the Donation Box works

Most people don't carry cash these days, but they really want to support the work of their church. With ChurchDesk's Donation Box, your church's visitors can pay for e.g. concerts tickets or donate to your church without having to keep cash on hand. You also avoid all the administrative hassle of handling this cash afterwards.

When you receive your Donation Box, all you need to do is assemble the stand and tablet, create the appropriate donation or payment projects in your ChurchDesk installation, add them to your payment terminal, and you're ready to go.

How to set up the Donation Box

In order to receive payments via your Donation Box, it is important that you register to receive payments and donations - read how in this article about setting up ChurchDesk payments and donations . This should be done immediately after ordering the Donation Box, as it may take some time and in order for you to be ready to use the Donation Box when you receive it.

Select which project should be displayed

- Go to your payments & giving module in your ChurchDesk system.
- Select “Terminal” in the vertical menu on the left and click on “No name specified”.
- Give the donation column a name and enter the location. (A meaningful name is particularly relevant for several donation columns in a church).
- Select a project under “Project on device”.





Tip: Create a new donation project via the “Projects” menu item, if you would like to have one specifically for the donation box.

Administration

Like other payment and donation projects, the Donation Box is managed from the ‘Payments’ module in your ChurchDesk installation. You can find introductions, FAQs and guides to payments here

Once you have created a payment and/or donation project under ‘Payments’ and added it to your Donation Box all visitors to the church can donate/pay with their payment card via the payment terminal.

To change the set donation project, go to the payments & giving module and in the left menu to “Terminal”, click on the name of the donation box and change it under “Project on device”. After 15-20 minutes, the project is automatically updated and appears on the donation box.

Battery longevity: If you want to have the donation box switched on for most of the day, we recommend that you connect the donation box to the power supply and leave it switched on constantly. It will then be charged up to 85%, as this increases the battery life.
