Anniversary App – Keep Track of Important Life Events

The Anniversary App in the People module helps you keep track of important life events in your congregation – such as birthdays, baptisms, or wedding anniversaries. It ensures you are notified in advance so you can send personal greetings, congratulations, or invitations directly through ChurchDesk.

You can choose which users should receive notifications and which life events should be considered. The only requirement is that the corresponding data is saved in each contact’s profile.

1. What kinds of anniversaries are supported?

The following events are available by default:

  • Birthday
  • Baptism date
  • Confirmation or First Communion date
  • Wedding anniversary
  • Membership date

You can add your own custom fields as needed.

People > Fields > Edit fields > Life events




2. How does the notification system work?

In your ChurchDesk Settings, you can define which users in your organisation should be notified about upcoming anniversaries. Notifications are sent 14 days in advance, giving you enough time to respond – for example, with a phone call, letter, or message through ChurchDesk.

You can add or remove users from the recipient list at any time to avoid unwanted notifications.



3. How are anniversary dates added?

For the Anniversary App to work, relevant data needs to be stored in your contact profiles. You can add data in three ways:

  1. Manually in each contact
  2. Importing data from an Excel or CSV file
  3. Automatically via form responses, if matching fields exist

In every contact profile, you’ll find a section for “Life Events” where you can add, edit, or remove anniversary data.


4. Who has access to the Anniversary App?

Any user who has access to the People module will also be able to see the Anniversary App and the overview of upcoming anniversaries.


5. Where can I see upcoming anniversaries?

You can view all upcoming anniversaries under:

People > Anniversaries

This shows all life events that are coming up within the next 14 days.

If a contact has a phone number or email address saved, you’ll see a “Send message” button next to their name. This allows you to quickly send a personal message via email or SMS – right from the Anniversary App.



6. Is the Anniversary App available in the mobile app?

The Anniversary App itself is not available in the ChurchDesk mobile app. However, you can still view contact profiles and see any saved life events there.


7. Can I turn off notifications?

Yes. In the settings of the Anniversary App, you can simply remove a user from the list of recipients. This means they will no longer receive reminders.


8. I’m not receiving emails – what can I check?

If you're not receiving anniversary notifications, check the following:

  • Are you listed as a recipient in the Anniversary App settings?
  • Are valid dates saved in your contacts’ life event fields?
  • Have you checked your spam or junk folder?
