The Dashboard

The Dashboard in ChurchDesk – Your Personal Overview

The dashboard is the first thing you see when logging into ChurchDesk – your starting point for everyday work. It provides a compact and interactive overview of your tasks, events, duties, and current developments in your organisation.

Clearly structured into two sections:

  • My Work: Here you’ll find all your events, rota duties, and Calendar notifications.
  • Member Care: This area gives you insight into visits, contacts, messages, and donations.

In this article, we will show you:

  • What information and functions the dashboard offers,
  • How you can take action directly from the dashboard,
  • And what to keep in mind if your permissions are limited.

Your Personal Work Overview

1. Events & Invitations (top left)

Under "My Work", you’ll see your upcoming events as well as invitations where you've been added to an event as a user. This calendar function is used to keep people informed about relevant events – even if they don't have an active role (i.e. no specific duty).

  • Accept, maybe, or declining an invitation: Use the "No answer" button next to the date.
  • You can also create new events directly from here.

2. Rota duties (second row on the left)

This section contains two tabs:

  • Rota duties you are already assigned to
  • Open duties that still need volunteers

You can use the "Assign me" button to accept open duties directly – without switching to the duties module.

3. Calendar Notifications

These show changes to events where you’re listed as a participant – for example, time changes or new assignments. The latest 6 changes in the calendar are always shown.

Membership Care at a Glance

4. Check-ins & Attendance Tracking

Under "Membership Care", you’ll find:

  • A summary of check-ins already recorded
  • Events that are still missing attendance numbers

→ You can enter attendance data directly from here.

5. Messages

This shows messages that have already been sent or are scheduled to be sent. Clicking on the title takes you directly to the message – provided you have permission to access the messaging module.

Note: If you don’t have access rights for a module, the relevant tile will appear empty.

6. Contacts & Donations

  • In "Recent contacts", you’ll see newly added contacts and can go directly to their profiles.
  • "Recent donations" shows incoming donations and the associated projects.

Additional Notes

  • Customising the dashboard: The layout and content of the dashboard tiles are system-defined and cannot be customised.
  • Direct access: All tiles include links to the relevant module.
  • Automatic updates: The dashboard refreshes automatically – no need to reload it manually.
  • Mobile view: The ChurchDesk app shows a simplified dashboard with three areas:
    • Today (current events)
    • Invitations that require a response
    • Unread messages
