Rearranging content
After you've added content like text or images to your ChurchDesk Designer, you might want to rearrange them, adjust their width, or align them for optimal display. This article guides you through the basic functions for moving and adjusting content on your website, based on the structural building blocks of rows, columns, and modules. To gain a deeper understanding of these building blocks, we recommend our article on Rows, Columns, and Modules.

Dragging content to other positions
If you want to move content to other places on your page, you can drag it using the dotted icon that appears when you hover your mouse over the content. With this function, you can easily drag and drop rows, columns, and modules anywhere on your page.
This allows for flexible and intuitive redesign of your page layout. You can quickly rearrange content without having to completely recreate elements, which saves time and simplifies editing.
Adjusting content width
You have two ways to control column width:
- You can adjust the width of each column by hovering your mouse over the column until a wider purple bar appears; hold it clicked and drag it narrower or wider as desired.
- Use the Equalize Columns option in your Row Settings to equalize the width of all columns within a row. This means that each column in your row will have exactly the same width. To do this, hover your mouse over the row -> click "Row" -> click the three dots -> select "Equalize Columns".
Adjusting column width is crucial for a harmonious and balanced layout. This helps you present content optimally and improve readability on different screen sizes.
Using empty space to align content
Insert empty columns before or after a column with content to center it or to purposefully create space between elements.
By consciously using empty columns, you create a clear structure and visual calm on your page. This improves readability, directs the eye to important content, and ensures a professional appearance.
Stacking columns
In the Designer, you can usually arrange multiple columns side-by-side in a row. Stacking refers to how these columns behave on smaller screens (e.g., mobile devices): instead of remaining side-by-side, they automatically arrange themselves one below the other.
This behavior ensures that your layout remains user-friendly on all devices. Content is easily readable and operable on smartphones as well, as no horizontal scrolling is necessary and the display is optimally adapted to the screen size.
To activate this function, hover your mouse over the respective row -> click "Row" -> click the three dots -> activate the slider for "Desktop column stacking".
Copying content
With the copy function, you can easily duplicate existing rows, columns, or modules.
Copying content saves a lot of time. If you want to use a specific design or content structure multiple times, you don't have to recreate it every time; you can simply duplicate it and adjust it as needed. This also ensures consistency in your website's design.
To remove content, select the corresponding element, click the button, and then select the duplicate icon.
Removing content
To remove a row, column, or module, select the corresponding element, click the button, and then select the red trash can icon. A confirmation prompt protects against accidental deletion. Elements that are no longer needed can be removed without residue, which optimizes loading times and makes navigation clearer for visitors.
