Get to know the website designer

To access the Website Designer, you need to be logged into your ChurchDesk account and click on the arrow next to the "Dashboard" button to open the "Website":

Next, you can open the Website Designer by hovering over the first box, as shown here, and clicking on it:

The Website Designer opens in a new tab and you now have access to editing. There are two different ways to navigate through the pages. You can either click on "Pages" in the menu on the left-hand side or use the black drop-down menu at the top:

If you click on one of these buttons, it will expand and you will get an overview of all pages:

On the left-hand side you can also click on "Design", where you will find many different editing options:

Here you will find the following menu items:
"Overall layout", these are the settings for the overall appearance of the website. Here you can, for example, change the background colors, insert a background image, etc.
"Basic elements", these are settings for mouseover on image, navigation settings and scroll icon.
"Global texts", these are the general text settings for editing in text modules.
"Global colors", these are settings for the colors used on the website.
"Modules", these are the settings for how the modules you insert can be predefined.
Web accessibility": settings for displaying the focus and navigation for people with disabilities or impairments accessing the website.
Custom CSS", an HTML field in which you can insert codes.

At the top of the page there is a black bar with three different functions. First: "Design", which you are automatically on when you open the website designer:

Then there is the "Content" section:

It includes the following:
"Global data", where you can change various information such as opening hours, cover image, logo, etc.
"File management" where you can upload the files you want to use on the website.
301 Redirects" where you can redirect traffic from deleted or unused pages (NOTE: only if you have the Studio package)
Search Engine Optimization, which helps you to optimize your website for search engines.

The last feature is "Products", which deals with the integrations you can have on your website, such as Facebook, Google, etc:

There are also three icons in the black bar that represent a computer, a tablet and a cell phone. These are the so-called "viewports" that you need to adapt your website to these formats:

Next, you will see a clock icon with an arrow around it. This is a feature that allows you to go back if you have edited something that you regret. You can see both the date and the time at which the change was made:

The next function is the "Preview", which shows you how your website looks on desktop, tablet and cell phones:

The last function in the bar is the "Publish" button, which is used to publish the changes you have made:
