Candidate Introductions for Elections

This guide will help you quickly and easily create a new page on your ChurchDesk website to present your candidates for the upcoming church council election. You can either use an existing template or build a new page using drag-and-drop elements.

1. Find and customize the right template

  • The easiest option is to use the ready-made “PCC"-page. If this page is not available, you can alternatively create a new page and use the “About Page 1” template (found under “About Pages”). (See screenshots below)
  • If the “PCC” page is still available in your website, you can duplicate it. Rename the duplicate in the settings, e.g. to “Candidates 2025”.
  • To move the page to a different location in your site menu, use the six-dot symbol and drag the page to your preferred position via drag and drop.

2. Hide the page, edit it, then show it again

To work on your new page without displaying it to the public, start by hiding it from the navigation. Click the page box, then the settings gear icon, and select “Hide page from navigation”.

To edit content like photos, texts, headlines or text boxes, please refer to the relevant help articles available in ChurchDesk Support. Once everything is ready, make the page visible again in the navigation.

3. What your finished candidate page could look like

Your finished page might include a headline such as “Introducing the Candidates for the 2025 Church Council Election”. You could add a short welcome text and include photos of each candidate along with their personal information and motivation.

If you are working in a shared parish space, you can also duplicate the page and create a separate subpage for each congregation.
