Using an HTML module (videos, maps...)

Want to expand your ChurchDesk website with special functions, widgets, or third-party content that our standard modules don't cover? The HTML module is the ideal tool for your custom content!

It allows you to seamlessly integrate your own HTML codes (snippets) or embedding codes from external services (such as special registration forms or video hosting providers) into your page. Find out here how to use the module and what possibilities it offers you.

On this page you will find

HTML Module

Embedding the module

You can add an HTML module by selecting HTML under the Page Layout category when you choose "Add module".

To edit your HTML module after it has been added, double-click the module or click the edit icon. You can then expand and edit the options under "Content" or "Local Design" in the module overlay.

Inserting content

Paste your HTML snippet into the Content tab. The left column in the embedding field shows the number of code lines included, while in the right part, you can insert and display your actual HTML code.

Local Design

In the "Local Design" section, you can change the background, border, and spacing for your HTML module. You can also add an animation.

You can customize the basic design as usual in Global Design. Click "Design" on the left -> Modules -> Page Layout -> HTML.

Example

When do I use an HTML module?

The video module does not support files from the video hosting provider Wistia. If you want to embed a video hosted by Wistia on your website, you can use the HTML module. To do this, you need the video's embedding code and insert it into the HTML module. Once you have published your website, the video will be displayed.

How do I get the required HTML code?

Common video platforms like YouTube or Vimeo provide you with the HTML code via the "Share button" or the "Embed button". The difference from a classic link is that visitors are not redirected, but the video is played on your website. Please note that a "cookie solution" should then be present on your website (This option is available as an add-on from ChurchDesk).
