Want to enhance your website with appealing photo galleries? In this article, we'll guide you step-by-step through creating and customizing your photo galleries. Learn how to add and edit images and adjust the design to your preferences.

In this article, we'll show you:

How do I add a new gallery?

Add a new row by moving your mouse to the center of the page and clicking "+ Add Row". In the next step, select the desired gallery type. Simply click on the preview.

Note: Users with a Studio package have more templates available.

If you already have a row, insert a new module into it and select the gallery from the "visuals" section.

How do I add or adjust images in my gallery?

To adjust the images in the gallery or insert new images, double-click on the module or click on the small module button, select the pencil icon, and then edit the module.

Under Content, you can add the desired image files. Here you have three options:

  1. Images from Global Data
  2. Images from the File Manager
  3. Images from your local PC

When you click on the small arrow next to an image in the content section, you have various editing options:

  • Edit: You can edit the image, e.g., crop it.
  • Replace: Here you can replace existing images and select images directly from the File Manager.
  • Remove: You can completely remove the image from the gallery if you want fewer images in the gallery.

The most important Design Options for the Gallery

In edit mode, you can customize all visual features via "Local Design". Under "Settings", you can enable/disable the following options respectively.

  • Amount of images shown: Determine how many images should appear in the gallery preview.
  • Amount of columns: Set how many columns the images should be displayed in. In the screenshot above, for example, there are three columns.

Thumbnails
  • Caption text: The text is entered directly with the image. By default, it is only displayed in the bottom left corner of the image when the gallery is opened. If you also want to display the text in the preview, you must activate "Show caption with thumbnail" under Settings -> Thumbnails.
  • Square preview or Original format: Determine whether the images in the preview should be displayed uniformly square or in their respective actual image format.

Slide Transition
  • Arrows: Activate arrows to navigate through the gallery preview. This becomes necessary if the gallery contains more images than can be displayed on one page.
  • Pagination dots: Activate the pagination dots to show website visitors how many pages the gallery comprises.

The Gallery and Image List modules look very similar when you add them to your website. The difference between the two modules lies in the behavior when a visitor clicks the images. When using the Gallery module to display images, an image will enlarge and be shown in an overlay when clicked. Clicking an image from the Image List module, the visitor will be directed to another page/website/email/file if you have added a link to the image (if no link has been added, nothing happens when the image is clicked).
