# Stripe new terms - 06.01.2027

###

Payments through ChurchDesk are processed by our payment partner, Stripe. Stripe has updated its terms (the Stripe Services Agreement) and its Privacy Policy. Because your church receives payments and donations through ChurchDesk, you have a Stripe account connected to ChurchDesk, and we are therefore required to inform you about these changes.

| In short: you don't need to do anything. The updated terms take effect automatically, and you can keep using ChurchDesk payments as usual.

## When do the changes take effect?

| Date | What happens? |
| ---- | ---- |
| 28 September 2026 | The updated terms apply to new Stripe users. For existing users, new Service Terms (for new services) apply from this date. |
| 20 November 2026 | Stripe's updated Privacy Policy takes effect. |
| 6 January 2027 | Changes to the General Terms, and Service Terms that materially affect existing services, take effect for existing users. |

## What are the main changes?

- **AI agents:** The account holder is responsible for all actions initiated by or through an AI agent operating on the account.
- **New Service Terms:** Terms have been added for a number of Stripe services, including Stripe Payments, Stripe Billing, Financial Connections and Next-Day Settlement.
- **Stripe Atlas:** The standalone Stripe Atlas terms are now part of the Services Agreement.
- **Other updates:** The Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and the Link Payment Method Terms have been revised.

Most of the changes relate to services that ChurchDesk payments don't use, and they don't affect how you receive payments and donations.

## Do we need to do anything to accept the new terms?

No. By continuing to use ChurchDesk payments after the effective dates, you automatically accept the updated terms.

## Does this change our payments, fees or payouts?

No. The update doesn't change the fees for ChurchDesk payments, and payouts to your bank account continue as before. See also the [Payments & Giving FAQ](https://support.churchdesk.com/en/).

## What if we don't agree to the new terms?

If you don't want to accept the updated terms, you must stop using ChurchDesk payments and have your Stripe account closed before the applicable effective date. As your Stripe account is managed through ChurchDesk, please contact us at support@churchdesk.com and we'll help you close it.

Please note that you will then no longer be able to receive online payments or donations, or sell tickets, through ChurchDesk.
