# Search module

The **Search module** is a tool that allows your website visitors to search for specific content. This feature is particularly useful for websites with many subpages, as it simplifies navigation and helps users quickly find what they're looking for. In this article, you'll learn how to add, design, and configure the search module.

|| Please note that the Search module is only available if you have subscribed to the "Studio" add-on.


# Add a Search module to your page
ou add a new module by hovering your mouse pointer over either an empty column or an existing module on your website and selecting **+ Add Module**. You can find the Search module under the Page Navigation category:

To edit the Search module after it has been added, double-click the module or click "Module" -> and then the pencil icon to edit. You can then expand and edit the settings under "Design" or "Settings".

| **N**ote: A website is not fully searchable until it has been published. Therefore, the Search module is not functional in the preview version of your website. Publish your website before you test your Search module.


# Design
In the Design section, you can change the background, border, and spacing of your Search module.

Click "Edit Global Design" to get to the basic global settings for this module. You can also access this area by clicking on Design on the left side -> Modules -> Page Navigation -> Search.


# Settings
Specify which content categories should be included in the search results when your visitors search on your website. By default, all content categories are included in the settings:
* **Content on the page:** Matching content on all your pages will be included in the search results.
* **Content in product descriptions:** This category is not relevant for ChurchDesk customers.
* **Content in blog post titles:** Matching content in all your blog post titles will be included in the search results.


# Searched content
The search results include content from the following modules and features:
* Text blocks
* Src and alt attributes for image modules
* Maps
* Gallery
* Image list
* Link and download
* HTML
* Accordion

||| Important: The search function covers the entire website. This means that hidden pages or subpages that do not appear in your navigation are still accessible via the search. Visitors can find hidden content through the Search module, even if there are no direct links to those pages.
