Create and Manage Consent

Before creating your consent statement, you need to have a webpage where your contact can read what they're agreeing to when giving their consent.

You can choose to either set up a regular page on your ChurchDesk website or, if you already have a consent statement as a document, upload it to your ChurchDesk file archive and link to it directly.

How to create a page

  1. Go to the homepage
  2. Click the green (+) create button and chose "Page"
  3. Giv the page a title and write the information about the consent
  4. Scroll down to the bottom and save the page

How to link to a file

  1. Upload your file about consent into your file manager
  2. Make sure the visibility of the file is "Published to website"
  3. Open the file, by clicking the title
  4. Click on the link icon in the upper right corner
  5. Copy the link to the file

How to set up consent

  1. Go to PEOPLE
  2. Click on Consent in the sidebar
  3. Click on 'Create statement' 
  4. Give your consent statement a title and insert the link to your consent page or file
  5. Click on 'Save'

How to add consent to a form

When a consent statement has been set up in PEOPLE you can easily add this to a form.

  1. Go to FORMS
  2. Create/edit a form
  3. Add a "Name and email" section

The section will automatically contain all your consent statements. If you don't want to use all of them in the form, you can remove them by clicking on 'Remove'.

How to add a consent to a subscribe view

  1. Go to the homepage
  2. Click on the green + and chose Subscribe view
  3. Make a title and optional description
  4. Chose which consent you want to show on the subscribe view
  5. Click save

How to see who has given their consent

When a contact has signed up via a form or a subscribe view and given their consent it'll be recorded on their contact in PEOPLE.

How to see a consent on a contact

  1. Go to PEOPLE
  2. Find the contact you want to see and click on their name, to open their contact profile
  3. Click on the tab 'Settings'
  4. In the box 'Consent' you can see the status for this contact

How to create a consent list

  1. Go to PEOPLE
  2. Click on 'Create new list'
  3. Scroll down to the Consent section
  4. Chose the consent you want to create a list for
  5. To see all who has agree, select "Is registered" (see image below).
  6. Click 'Save list'

How to set up double opt-in

You can ask your contacts to confirm via email, that they have given consent. This is called double opt-in. Here's how you can enable or disable this for your ChurchDesk:

  1. Click on your name in the blue tool bar
  2. Chose ChurchDesk Settings
  3. Chose 'People settings'
  4. Scroll down to Consent and enable or disable double opt-in
  5. Save in the upper right corner
