Maintaining the church calendar should be at the heart of your church management efforts. Adding an event is the first step in a complex process. Having the right overview and automation is vital to being successful. With ChurchDesk, all of your tools are live in the same system which allows you to manage complex processes with ease. When you create an event you will be able to book resources and available staff, create and assign tasks, publish on your website and insert a form for sign-ups. Calendar management in ChurchDesk is not about just having a digital calendar, it is about doing your work smarter so you spend less time on administration and more time on your members.

Ensure you are in the Calendar

Calendar overview 

This is the overview of your Calendar. You will be able to see all events that are associated with the groups you are a member of. You can:

1. Create Event or Absence.

2. Switch between days, weeks or months.

3. Click the Calendar Icon if you want to go to a specific date.

4. Choose day, week, month, resource or user view.

5. Edit Calendar Settings.

6. Choose settings for viewing published and unpublished events, as well as Absence. (We recommend keeping all of these on). 

7. Choose if you want to see Resources and Information Icons on events (We recommend keeping these on). You can also choose if you want to see Absence overview and Work plan - Please note, these will only be visible in the Day view, Resource view and User view. 

8. View events with resources booked. Left click once to see more.

Integration with other ChurchDesk tools


When you create an event and make it visible for external purposes you gain the ability to integrate it with other ChurchDesk tools. You can create calendar views on your website that automatically incorporate the events you want them to show. The tasks associated with an event will automatically be shown under "Tasks" for all relevant users. When you create an email message you can easily add your events. Everything is automated to help you communicate your events faster and in line with your graphic profile. 

 

External and Internal events - all-in-one 

The Calendar at ChurchDesk helps you organise all of your events - both internal and external. Tasks

With access to Planning, you can create tasks that needs to be taken care of before, during and after your event. A task can be assigned a specific user or offered to a group, leaving them free to assign themselves to the task.

You go to your ChurchDesk app on your smartphone or tablet. Edit or create events, insert Absence or just have a look at your schedule for the day. Room Booking

Connect your resources to your Room Booking tool. This will help website visitors see when your rooms are available. It will not show what's going on at the time, but that the room is booked. You can also create a Room Booking form and let the automated system handle the administration for you.
